Information Security and Networking Professionals had for over a decade designed, deployed and implemented numerous IT projects and had earned a name for itself in the IT industry in Assam. Keeping future growth in mind and in accordance with corporate vision it was decided to incorporate ourselves as a Private Limited Company enabling us to venture into new markets and possibilities.

AxomNet Broadband Pvt. Ltd. is run by Founder and Managing Director Mr. Parijat Purkayastha (CCNP, MCSE, MCTS, MCSE (messaging), CNE) and also plays the role of technical head. Mr. Purkayastha carries over 2 decades of experience and was formerly employed with M/s Redington India Limited as Microsoft Technnology Specialist and prior to that he was employd with M/s Blue Dart Express Limited as Systems Executive. Mr. Purkayastha was the Systems Head with M/s Irus Software Applications, Bangalore and Pune where he was the Systems Head and had implemented numerous projects in India and abroad.
Mr Rupam Phukan heads the finance department at Axomnet. He is also the Managing Director of Power Carbons Pvt Ltd, an OE manufacturer of Carbon Brushes, and also an empaneled vendor of Mahindra, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Renault, Tata for various car detailing and consumable products, present across 9 states of India. He carries over two decades of experience in Finance and Business Strategies, as well as in depth knowledge and expertise on consumer computing and networking. He was previously employed with Dell Technologies.

City wide Point to Point Networking

AxomNet is a DoT licensed ISP. This grants us certain privileges such as 'Right of Way' to lay fiber optic cables within our Designated Service area.
Axomnet Customers who have multiple offices or godowns whave the option of linking up their offices via LAN speed VPN and other available technologies. This allows our customers to increase productivity, broaden and simplify their networking needs, make their Servers available over multiple offices, print from multiple offices, immediate file transfers etc.
AxomNet also provides ON SITE support to such customers within 45 minutes of support request.

Networking - Installation and Maintenance

Internet services generally can be classified into 4 different type.

* Peering Bandwidth: Peering is a technology and not a connection type that is provided to customers directly. We mention it here because it is important that customers know about it. Peering is a method that allows two or more networks to connect and exchange traffic directly without having to pay a third party to carry traffic across the Internet. It is mostly used for services such as ott and video platforms etc. Bandwidth today is mostly a mix of peering and real internet bandwidth.

* Mobile Data: Available on cellphones, this type of internet is provided by Cell Phone operators via 2G, 3G , 4G networks. This type of internet has performance speed based on the locality and tower reception. Although the recharge packs are cheap they are one of the costliest forms of Internet packs with limited data. The benefit of these connections is that they provide mobility. The upload speeds are normally much less in these internet types and the bandwidth comprises largely of Peering bandwidth and are not generally used for commercial use. It is a plactical reality that one can expect little to no customer support in these type of connections

* Domestic Broadband: Mostly provided by local ISP's and since recent times by National operators as well this type of internet is one of the most widely used. Normally provided direct to home via Optical Fiber they have consistent speed with committed downloads and varraying uploads. Though dependant on different vendors and their policies these type of connections come with excellent customer support with most problems being sorted out within hours. These are some of the most decently priced data plans.
Domestic broadband bandwidth is generally shared amongst a pool of users based on the access policies defined by the vendors. Generally they operate in pools of 1:8 or 1:16. For example if there are 8 customers who have subscribed to 20 mbps connections each, all 8 customers are assigned to a single pool of 20 mbps ie. only 20 mbps is available to 8 customers of 20 mbps. In these scenarios all 8 customers get 20 mbps but not continuously. These plans are advertised as speeds of 'UPTO'. Domestic broadband and in general all broadband do not come with static IP unless requested by subscribers.
In recent times National Tier 1 ISPs have also entered into this market but they are largely plagued with bad customer support. They have also triggered a price war which has resulted in cheap service with bad quality. Domestic Broadband too comprises mostly of peering bandwidth over real internet bandwidth which makes it more suitable for entertainment use rather than corporate use.

* Business / Commercial Broadband: Similar to Domestic broadband except that in general they come with better customer support, Static IP's. Depending from vendor to vendor these type of connections mostly have smaller user pools and lesser peering and more real internet bandwidth which enables better bandwidth for commercial use. At times some ISPs also provide managed internet services to commercial customers.

What are the different internet types ?

Why does the results of speedtest.net and fast.com differ ?

Speedtest by Ookla is a service which provides a free analysis of internet access performance metrics such as latency and connection data rate.
Fast which is by Netflix is another popular speed analysis service. The entertainment industry giant is offering Fast as it wants its users to have a “simple, quick, ad-free way to estimate the Internet speed that their ISP is providing.”
Internet speed test results vary with servers, networks, and the route and distance which the data packets have to travel. Speedtest has over 7000 servers around the world which makes sure that users from anywhere on the globe get the most accurate readings. Fast does not have thousands of servers registered to it, it does however connect to our nearest server.
It’s a general observation that test results on the same connection are higher on Speedtest than Fast. FAST is hosted by Netflix and Netflix is served mostly through peering bandwidth (Mumbai IX in India)and as such the real internet bandwidth in the connection is not available to the test. This is one of the factors that affect the test. For Speedtest, this is not the case. Its wide profile of servers allows for more detailed test results. Also Speed test servers are hosted by most ISPs and since SpeedTest uses MaxMind's geoip location services to loacate the nearest server a more accurate latency and speed test is possible. SpeedTest's global acceptance and transparent test features further increases its test credibility. It even goes a step further to use its data to rank countries and ISPs.Considering how well the company is popular and supports more platforms, Speedtest tests can be regarded as a wee bit more reliable than that of Fast. Also, Fast comes across as less transparent about how it conducts the speed tests and its server locations.

AxomNet considers test results of SpeedTest with servers as either "AxomNet Broadband" or "NGC Broadband" as its only benchmark.

Why are leased lines costlier but better ?

• Quality of Service (QoS) : When compared to broadband connectivity, an internet leased line provides a much better quality of service. This makes the experience of having convergent services like Voice and Video much smoother and more effective on ILL than on broadband.

• Permanent IP addresses : One of the biggest advantages of internet leased lines over broadband services for internet connectivity is that the former allows businesses and organizations to have their own permanent IP addresses on the web. Thus, having an ILL is a better option when it comes to commercial internet services.

• Reliability :Internet Leased Lines are far more reliable than the broadband connection. This is because the former can easily keep a check on various performance parameters of an internet connection, be it latency or jitter.

• Dedicated Connection : Broadband internet connectivity is usually shared by multiple users in a vicinity. However, an internet leased line offers a dedicated internet connection that is not shared by any other residents or businesses in a locality. This keeps the network from fluctuating during peak hours.

• Maximum Speed : Broadband speeds cannot match the speed provided by a leased line connection. The latter can go up to as high as 10 Gbps, while the maximum speed of the former is much lower. According to the latest Speedtest Global Index report by Ookla, India's mean fixed broadband speed is as low as 35.98 Mbps as of March 2020.

• Symmetrical Speed: A Broadband internet connection always optimizes the speed for downloads while compromising on the upload speeds whereas Internet leased lines provide symmetrical speeds for both downloads and uploads.

• Low Latency and Jitter : Compared to broadband internet, leased lines have way fewer delays in data transmission (latency) as well as fewer variations in these delays (jitter). This makes activities like video conferencing smoother over leased lines.

• Security : An internet leased line is far more secure than broadband internet connectivity. Because of the absence of any third-party users, an ILL naturally becomes much more secure from any exploitation and malicious cyberattacks.

• Cost-effective :An internet leased line comes with unlimited usage plans which let businesses avail of services like video conferencing and surveillance, voice over IP and etc. with the same plan. In the case of broadband internet, the costs would keep on increasing with added services and bandwidth use.
