Hati Bondhu Camp near Nagaon (2.5-3 hour drive from Guwahati) is an initiative of Osom Educational trust working selflessly to minimize Human and Wild Elephant conflict amongst others. Hati Bondhu has been planting and providing food for over a hundred wild elephants in their natural habitat thus nullifying their need to venture into human settlements. Surrounded by Suwang Reserve Forest and a tea garden, the camp is painstakingly and meticulously made for self sustenance and is entirely off the grid. The camp is built with biodegradable materials with plastic being used only where it cannot be avoided. The camp has multiple ponds with fish and ducks and there are many nature trials , waterfalls and a mesmerizing lake nearby making it a very nice place for an overnight visit apart from the visit to the elephant viewing point.The tranquility of the place though not far from Guwahati is astounding. And the best part is that revenue earned by the camp is put back into the project. Kaziranga National Park ( Burapahar Range) is only a 2 hour drive from our camp.
